Valentina Sounds

Valentina Sounds is an Italian-born, Philadelphia-based singer-songwriter whose music draws inspiration from both continents.

Raised as a classical pianist, during her teenage years she ditched Mozart for Led Zeppelin and started performing in rock bands across Italy. In her early twenties, she discovered songwriting, which allowed her to blend her love for rock music with her intuition for memorable melodies.

Her music training continued with a bachelor's degree in jazz performance from University of the Arts, where she refined the art of composing, arranging and producing.

Valentina Sounds' music brings a refreshing and hopeful spin on themes that touch everyone's lives. She has the ability to translate complicated feelings such as anxiety, heartbreak, regret and loss into beautifully catchy compositions, written with honesty, empathy and a sense of humor.

Valentina Sounds receives regular airplay on WXPN and DE Public Media. She recently played the Philadelphia Folk Festival and won the Honey Award for Best Female Solo Artist of the Delaware Valley.

When she's not performing or writing songs, Valentina is a music director for regional theater productions and an accomplished voice teacher.
