PA675 Green and Silver
This is a mid 60s vintage Lafayette PA 675 public address amp completely coverted for use as a guitar amp. This is a two channel amp. It has had all the filter capacitors and coupling capacitors replaced. A three prong cord and plug have been added as well as all input jacks converted for guitar. Output jacks have also been converted for speaker connection with 8, and 16 ohm connections and a standby switch added. Output is approximately 75 watts from a pair of EL34/6CA7 tubes. It runs a tube rectifier so it gives that great sounding sag when driven hard. This model used two rectifier tubes, a GZ34 for the power section and a 5Y3 for the preamp section. This was a common architecture in PA amps of the time.
Preamp tubes are 12ax7 and the phase inverter ir a 6av6. All in all a great sounding amp that takes pedals well but will also play clean and is very quiet at idle. It was converted about two years ago and has been used lightly ever since.
